Seattle Mennonite Church Announcements, April 13, 2008

The VS house is having a work day on Saturday April 19 starting at 10am, however, anyone who would like to help is welcome to stop by anytime on Saturday.  There are a few things that would be very helpful for this work day.  They are a power drill, doorknobs, wood deck cleaning supplies and knowledge on how to properly clean a deck and caulking for our showers.  If anyone has any of these items or is willing to let us borrow them it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Heather Linscheid

CAMREC Support - We will be taking a special offering for Camp CAMREC on Sunday, May 4 th .  CAMREC ended their fiscal year on March 31 st with a $2,000 loss.  Please consider how much you would be willing to give.  This would be a great way to spend part of your Bush stimulus checks.  Also, please read the enclosed insert regarding the Washington Mennonite Fellowship (WMF) annual meeting and other upcoming events including summer camps at CAMREC.

Please include your name on your form. We would love to answer any questions you might have so seek us out if we don't get to you first! If you desire to learn more about how SMC “works” please join us at an informational session during the Adult Study time next Sunday, April 20. Sarah K. Burkhalter, Susan Lohrentz, Lee Murray.

Congregational Meeting, 4 May 2008.   There will be a congregational meeting immediately following the study hour on Sunday, 4 May 2008.  The primary purpose will be first to seek congregational action (i.e., a reaffirmation) of the six charisms and their associated directions for ministry that emerged from the congregation in the Vision II process; and second, to discuss the implications of these directions for ministry on plans for the future.  The agenda and supporting materials will be distributed electronically to members of the SMC listserv and in hardcopy to members' mail folders.  Additional hardcopies are available on the table at the back of the fellowship area in the sanctuary.
