SMC Activities - November 2009
Next SMC Supported Community Meal – November 22 at 5:30pm at St. George’s Episcopal at 2212 NE 125th St (just west of SMC.) The menu will be taco soup, provided by our SU Nursing interns. SMC is responsible for bread, veggie platters, cheese and crackers. Contact Marg Nisly to get involved.
Thanksgiving Community Meal. Once again we will be hosting a meal for the Lake City Community at SMC on Thanksgiving, Nov. 26th at 1pm. St. Bridget's RC will provide turkey and stuffing, SMC is invited to provide salads, potato dishes and desserts.
Calling on Carpenters and Sandwich makers, we’re looking for volunteer project managers and carpenter supplies for new Community Economic Development Projects including Sheds Made Cooperatively (SMC) and Sandwiches Made Complete (SMC). We’re wanting to employ folks on the street with these positive opportunities and need organizational help!
Leaf Blower needed: If you have a gas powered leaf blower you would be able to lend the vital jobs program at SMC for one month they would be ecstatic. The Vital Jobs program is funded through the month of Nov to employ people from our community ministry program to clean up in front of businesses in Lake City. Saving the cost of a blower will leave more money for employment. Contact Melanie if you have one for loan.

"Not Greater Than Our Father Jacob": Reading Genesis 24-48 as Christians
Second Saturdays, 10 a.m. -3 p.m. Note new start date: Starting Nov 14, 2009 at the Abide in Me House, 80 6th Ave SE, Issaquah -led by Wes Howard-Brook and Sue Ferguson Johnson. This monthly Saturday series is a great community-building opportunity to join with others in prayer, discussion, laughter, song and food each month. Each session interweaves prayer and song, presentation on the month's text, small and large group discussion, individual silence, and potluck lunch.
