SMC's Community Ministry
- This new ministry is an outgrowth of SMC's vision for peace and justice as followers of Jesus Christ.  The SMC's Task Force on Homelessness was established in 2004 to coordinate a holistic response to the homeless community in the Lake city neighborhood (where the church is located).  In June we welcomed Melanie and Jonathan Neufeld as community ministers in this effort.

Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT)
Several members of Seattle Mennonite Church have participated in peace making delegations with CPT.

Mennonite Central Committee (MCC)
Mennonite Central Committee (MCC) is a relief, service, and peace agency of the North American Mennonite and Brethren in Christ churches.

Members of our congregation are busy on a lot of issues from salmon restoration to ensuring services for the poorest of the poor to ensuring quality education. It is important to speak up for those who cannot easily speak for themselves and to protect the environment for future generations. Everyone is encouraged to learn who their representatives are and to let their voices be heard.
