On April 16th, the Seattle Mennonite Church began prepration for Holy Week by renewing the service of footwashing. This came out of an Adult Study with the footwashing taking place after the service for those who chose to participate. In this photo (view straight down), Tera Brackman is being washed by Camila Crawford. Photo by David E. Ortman

A Footwashing Service at Seattle Mennonite Church included a mixed group of foot washing, although this photo shows two men: Ken Kraybill being washed by Dirk Giseburt. It also shows more clearly the unique quilt pattern that has been laid in the tile flooring of this part of the church. Photo by David E. Ortman

A number of Seattle area Mennonites, including pastor Weldon Nisly, gathered once again at noon on Friday December 3 for a peaceful march through downtown Seattle with labor, environmental and other church groups to protest both the WTO and the violent response of the police this week on the streets of Seattle. When last seen, the "Mennonites for Fair Trade" group was marching side by side the United Methodists. Photo by David E. Ortman
